A first for Breitling, the recycled strap of the Breitling Superocean Heritage II Outerknown watch is crafted from a regenerated nylon material created from nylon waste, one source of which is fishing nets found in our world’s oceans. The pattern of the strap is also inspired by a fabric produced by Outerknown while the bold taffeta blue colour represents the watch’s connection to our oceans. Following the same spec of Breitling’s famous Superocean Heritage II design, this striking timepiece showcases a 44mm blackened stainless steel case, a unidirectional ratcheted bezel, cambered sapphire crystal glass and a screw locked crown ensuring a water resistance of 200 metres. The rich blue dial pairs beautifully with the centrepiece strap and is equipped with hour and minute function, chronograph central seconds, seconds counter, chronograph minute counter, chronograph hour counter, a date window and a power reserve of 48 hours, all powered by the chronometer certified Breitling Calibre 13 movement. The Breitling Outerknown watch also comes with a special watch box made from the same recycled plastic as the strap.
THE STORY
The Superocean Heritage Chronograph 44 Outerknown celebrates Breitling’s partnership with sustainable apparel manufacturer Outerknown, co-founded by surfing legend Kelly Slater. The watch features a NATO strap crafted from ECONYL® yarn, an innovative material created from nylon waste. With its black DLC-coated stainless steel case, bold blue dial, and unique blue strap, it makes a dramatic style statement and creates a powerful link to our oceans.
